Letting Go!!!

To "let go" does not mean to stop caring, it means I can't do it for someone else.
To "let go" is not to cut myself off, it's the realization I can't control another.
To "let go" is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To "let go" is to admit powerless, which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To "let go" is not to try to change or blame another, it's to make the most of myself.
To "let go" is not to care for, but to care about.
To "let go" is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To "let go" is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.
To "let go" is not to be in the middle arrranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own destinies.
To "let go" is not to be protective, it's to permit another to face reality.
To "let go" is not to deny, but to accept.
To "let go" is not to nag, scold or argue, but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To "let go" is not to adjust everything to my desires but to take each day as it comes, and cherish myself in it.
To "let go" is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.
To "let go" is to fear less and love more.

My Mom Sent Me This, I Liked It So Much I Thought I Would Share It With You All!!!  XOXO DeeDee

This is what I woke up to this morning.....A Winter Wonderland!!!! As a child the first snow fall of the year my Dad would play Dean Martin's "Let It Snow"....To this day my family plays it over the phone as my sister, myself and our parents don't live in the same town anymore,we get "A Sense Of Comfort" when we hear the song playing over the phone just like when we lived at home.It puts a Smile and a Tear in my eye when ever I hear it!!! Thank You Dad for this Family Tradition!!!! XOXO DeeDee

I've never tried Mixed Media Art before (mind you i never understood it,i've looked at so many different styles from different artists). So this what I came up with...What do you think? It took me a while to get into it and I'm still not sure if it is finished or if it looks good enough,I'm my worst own critic.I ask my Family what they think and they all like my work(actually the bottom one my daughter asked if she could have it for her room)So I guess my work isn't that bad..I have so many ideas going around in my head of different art ideas I want to try, there just isn't enough time during the day.I have quite a few pieces on the go (from painting on pillows, jewlery, ornaments, purses)I better get them finished before I start on something new.So I best be going to my Happy Place (my craftroom) It gives me " A Sense Of Comfort" to work with my hands.....XOXO DeeDee

In Flanders Fields
John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

God Bless All The Men and Women Past and Present Who Have Given Up So Much For All Of Us!!!!

So what do you think of my Driftwood Hummingbird and my Driftwood  Fish Head? My Hubby,Kids & I used to go river walking all the time in our hometown,it was one of Favorite pastimes (we all miss it very much). We have many Driftwood finds that we made into candle holders. My Hubby & I would find a piece and see something in that piece of wood which no one else could see what we saw, they would just look at us and scratch their heads and wonder what we were smokin'!! My Holiday Continued...
We stopped in Kaslo B.C. my friend and I wandered around the small town looking at the history (while our guys went golfing) We checked out the S.S. Moyie....I've only posted a few of many pictures I took. The first picture is on the ship of the Mens Smoking Room, then the Dining Room.I have to chuckle as I remember when I looked around the corner into the Galley Kitchen how the Chinese Cook startled me and made me jump (i was not expecting to see anybody-which is even more funny as he is not real) The picture of the Menu is from Dec 1904.There are many different rooms for passangers to rest while they were on their voyage. The beds and rooms are very small (people back then must have been very short) as you may notice the very tiny ladies shoes on the floor. Then in the back of the ship is were the women and children lounged. It is Amazing of the Craftmenship that went into this ship...I could of stayed there all day wandering around in amazment and imagening how life was back then, but I had to get back to Reality (oh how i would Love to go back in time) Like I said before if you get a chance to Tour the Kootney's this is well worth the trip.TTYS XOXO DeeDee

My Husband & I went on a weeks holiday (our first time without the kids in 19yrs).We stopped at "The Glass House"(its between Creston & Crawford Bay B.C.in the Kootneys) it was built by a Doctor back in 1953-1963 (he raised his Family their for many years then eventually built a larger home beside this one),it was made out of 600,000 Embalmbing Bottles. There is no insulation in the house just the bottles with all the lids on them that has trapped air inside them for the insulation. The foundation of the house is one solid rock that over looks a lake.I only posted a few pictures of this Unique Place,so if you are ever down this way it is defenitely well worth the stop!!!
